Purpose of the position:
The ambassador will conduct mobilization and pre-vulnerability screening to identify the vulnerable AGYW and record on the case management register. Provide case management to all AGYW initiated on PrEP to promote continuation in care.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12/TVET college level 2 or Grade 10 with 1 year experience in HIV programmes
Be between the ages of 18-35 years
Ability to communicate in English, IsiXhosa and other South African languages
Driver’s license would be advantageous
HIV Counselling with be advantageous
Duties and Responsibilities
Create community awareness on issues affecting the lives of AGYW within their communities
Mobilize support for PREP and PP_PREV programmes
Provide and educate AGYW and their peers with information on HIV and AIDS, human rights, gender inequality and gender-based violence as well as Prep
Conduct pre-screening to identify vulnerable AGYW and hand hold to structural programs
Implement effective case management strategies in accordance with the Case Management Standard Operating Procedures.
Provide face-to-face youth care clubs in accordance with the identified needs of the AGYW.
Ensure that referrals to outside agencies are
Support the team in assessing the needs of youth in relation to HIV prevention, linkage to care and adherence to treatment.
Participate in interdisciplinary team and case review meetings
Recruit AGYW to youth care clubs
Submit monthly reports to the clinical trainer.
