The ARC-Animal Production (ARC-AP) seeks to appoint a highly skilled, experienced, and dynamic person to the following position in the new project funded by the National Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD) at Irene, Pretoria:
Job Description
Collection of semen, oocytes and evaluation.
Semen cryopreservation.
In vitro maturation, fertilization and culture of embryos.
Cryopreservation of oocytes and embryos
Participate in the successful transfer of scientific technology i.e. compilation of reports, oral and poster presentations and popular articles.
Good laboratory practice.
Pro-actively provide technical input within the context of the research projects.
Assist with planning and preparation of Farmer Days/engagements.
To contribute to research by rendering desired support to research staff and to optimise the utilisation of resources in the most cost effective and efficient manner.
To utilise and maintain facilities, apparatus and equipment.
Adhoc research assistance.
Participate on departmental meetings, seminars and workshops.
Job Requirements
Honours /BSc/Advanced Diploma in Animal Science or Animal Production.
Understanding of basic principles of research.
Good communication skills (verbal and written).
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
