Summary
The incumbent will be required to effectively, and efficiently manage stock within the pharmacy and assist with hospital stock management.
This includes internal replenishment of stock, setting of levels, receipting and activities related to the goods receipt and efficient system and process records between pharmacy, finance, and suppliers. Additionally, reduced dead, obsolete, and excess stock management. Efficient and effective communication between internal departments and external clients. Additionally, ensure efficient and effective stock control is established and maintained between pharmacy and internal and external suppliers. Assist with cycle counts and stock take processes as per Group policy, action, analyze and implement improvement strategies. Follow up on back orders and ordering of stock. Unpack and check stock received, measure and evaluate stock activity levels for stock and re-ordering purposes. Maintain stock at agreed value targets (stock days). Check expiry dates regularly and ensure the timeous return to suppliers and/or write off of stock. Assist with establishment and maintaining re-order levels for Pharmacy and internal storage locations based on utilisation reports. Generate replenishment report to wards and ensure replenishments are done and sent to wards/theatres

Requirements

Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification

Relevant qualification in pharmacy as an assistant, will be advantageous

Work Experience

Group MM and Price File management experience in a Private Hospital and SAP environment (minimum 2-year experience)

Experience and skilled in Pharmacy Financial analysis and reporting

Extensive (1-3 years) experience in Private Hospital IT systems (demonstrated ability to improve systems)

Hospital or pharmacy stock control experience in a SAP & Private Hospital environment (5-10 years)

Knowledge

Advanced computer skill and ability to consolidate Group reports

Customer service orientated with high working standards

Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills

Must be able to apply critical judgement across variable situations and able to anticipate complications and provide solutions

Sound knowledge of costs and cost containment including economic use of stock and accurate charging of all items

Support and supervision of staff within the department
